This week we have celebrated Dr. Seuss. All week we have created "Seussy" like projects and have been inspired by his work and his words. Here's just a few of his inspirational quotes:
March 2, 2015! Dr. Seuss' Birthday!
His real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel. He used his
middle name to create the pen name "Dr. Seuss".
Not only do his books rhyme, but they also have very unique characteristics!
Did you know...
Dr. Seuss' characters all have "u" shaped eyes, crazy hair or a hat, and black lines! If you look closely to the children's work, they too have "Seussy" characteristics.
Cat in the Hat
The children all had different opinions about the things the Cat in the Hat would do if he came to Longleaf.
"If the Cat in the Hat came to my school he would break the globe."
"If the Cat in the Hat came to my school he would mess up my picture."
"If the Cat in the Hat came to my school he would break a toy."
"If the Cat in the Hat came to the school he would do crazy tricks."

We used this book to help the children think about the difference between needing something versus wanting something.
